Kata Mama Seafood is quite a large restaurant at the southern end of Kata Beach next to the Ska Bar. It is extremely popular with tourists during the day due to the location on the beach.

We have been here for a few lunches and dinners over the years and have had much better experiences at night.  I think it is due to them sometimes being so busy at lunchtime that they barely cope. However, at night it is quieter and very good.
