Malin Plaza Patong Beach is a good place to eat authentic freshly cooked Thai food at very reasonable prices. Some of the food here you will find at the everyday local markets a bit cheaper but this is a nice setting and a lot cooler.
It can be extremely hard to find an empty table and chairs but keep looking, one will come up eventually as people do not hang around once they have eaten.
There is also a shopping area constructed from shipping containers which are under a very high roof to keep things cool.
Malin Plaza has a fantastic friendly atmosphere and is worth a visit for some tasty cheap Thai food and souvenir shopping.
Malin Plaza is on Prachanukhro Road at the southern end of Patong Beach, same road as the Duanjitt Hotel and Future Plaza and opening hours are from 2pm until around midnight.
