PHANG NGA PROVINCE
Once you leave Phuket Island via the bridges that connect to the mainland you will be entering Phang Nga Province. The original Sarasin Bridge is now a tourist attraction for pedestrians and the newer Thepkasattri Bridge is for all traffic.
Phang Nga Province is a huge area that includes Phang Nga Bay, Surin and Similan Islands, Khao Lak, National Parks etc etc however I am mainly covering the areas you can visit easily from Phuket or Khao Lak on a day trip or even staying the night in Phang Nga Town.
Phang Nga is a beautiful scenic area covered mainly by mountains and forests and only about 1.5 hours drive from Patong to the center of Phang Nga town.
There are so many interesting places to visit along the way, amazing viewpoints, national parks, caves, beautiful ornate Temples, waterfalls and nice restaurants.
The highway is good and well sign posted, it is impossible to get lost and this area is most definitely worth exploring.
