This is just a guide to prices only, some of the prices are what we have paid and some are from other people’s reports. So, if you pay more or less for something, it doesn't matter.

The best way to get a bargain is never lose your cool or raise your voice, always bargain with a smile and a few words of Thai will not go astray and your attempts will be much appreciated.

BUYING ALCOHOL
In Thailand, there is a law regarding the hours that shops can sell alcohol. Most places will sell to you at these times 11am - 2pm and 5pm - 12am. Big supermarkets and 7/11 stick to these times however some little mom and pop stores will sell alcohol at any time.
You can buy alcohol at La Cave Big C, 7/11, most of the little local supermarkets and of course all the major ones.
There is also a good distributor up Rat-U-Thit Rd past the Patong Merlin called Patong Whisky. It is on the other side of the road, look for the huge sign on top of a building on the corner advertising a cosmetic surgeon, go down that lane and its down a bit on the right. They also have a big selection of wine and beers. It’s a great place to buy in bulk if you are staying for a while.
