Koh Sirey is a very small island that is separated from Phuket by a small shallow channel, it is only a few kilometers from Phuket Town and is connected by a bridge. The island is also home to many monkeys living in the mangroves and there are small viewing platforms on the main road onto the island. Koh Sirey also has Thailand's largest community of Sea Gypsies so there are some fantastic seafood restaurants here such as Ruen Talay Seafood which is a lovely place set in tropical gardens with fantastic views.

Everything we ate here was delicious, the pork was so tender, just falling off the bone, the Pak Miang coconut soup is the best I have had, the seafood so fresh and tasty. Tinnie is the manager of Ruen Talay and is related to friends of ours, what a character he is, he had lunch with us and would not stop putting food on my plate.

 

Ruen Talay also has a separate two story building that is shaped like a boat, one section is open air and the other air conditioned. There are also VIP Karaoke rooms which the locals love at night!

Ruan Talay Seafood Phuket has been serving great food since 1989 and is situated on top of a small hill that has incredible views out across the mangrove forests to the sea. There is a location map in the slideshow below and the address is 25 / 2 Moo 1, Soi Mali Khaew, Theppatan Road, Muang Phuket.
