KHAO SOK RIVER LODGE
We actually had a couple of places to look at staying in for our visit to Khao Sok, they had to have a nice view, be different to places we normally stay, have free wifi, a balcony and a television etc.
The first place we looked at was Khao Sok River Lodge and that was it we loved it and were not interested in seeing the other places on our list.
We were in the very last bungalow which is also the closest one to the river, the price is usually 1800baht a night with breakfast, free wifi and unlimited tea and coffee all day, but they gave it to us for 1500baht.
We were very happy with the price and checked in for 3 nights.
The room was perfect for us, plenty of room and sensational views of the river and jungle from our balcony. We were also warned on checking in not to leave anything outside on the balcony as the monkeys come down in the afternoon and will steal whatever you leave outside.
Sure enough around 4pm you can hear them coming and running across the roofs of the bungalows or sitting out on your balcony, I have never stayed anywhere where this has happened before so it was a bit of a novelty to start with and a bit scary walking down the wooden walkways as there are monkeys watching you.
We loved our stay at Khao Sok River Lodge, everything was perfect, and the staff are wonderful and so helpful, the restaurant is also pretty good value, we will definitely stay there again.
